Moved from the 1st gold 1 bdr ocean view to another due to poor kitchen amenities - no large/med bowls, dull knives, very cheap pots/pan (non-stick surface was very scratched up), old blender and dirty can opener. etc. Appliances, dishware, silverware were all IKEA brand - (think college apt) cheap and living room furniture was uncomfortable - not what I expected in paying for a Gold standard. So beware - each condo is the taste of the owner. Second condo was night/day difference and we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our 12 night stay. Resort shuttle picks you up at your condo and was very prompt to take you around the area. BBQ grills were nice and kids preferred condo pool since it was 8 ft deep (and not busy like the Ritz). Pool area also had outside shower and bathrooms and a couple tables to eat your meal. Maid service was daily although their cleanup was not the best - mainly changed towels and made up beds. They wiped the fingerprints off the glass dining table only once during our stay. I don't think they ever vacuumed. Had to call for newspaper twice. They were prompt when I asked for more soap/shampoo or towels. This is the place to be if you don't like crowds and busy areas like Kaanapali and Lahaina. Very relaxing, private and 1st class area. You cannot use the Ritz gym but the new Kapalua gym is great with the latest equipment. Area was very windy in the evening - we were in the Ridge and it was difficult to eat out on the patio because we felt we were going to be blown away (lanai faced ocean). All together, we loved the area and will definitely return next summer - it is beautiful!

Stayed at the Kapalua Ridge villas at a gold villa from 18 Dec 2009 till 1 January 2010. The staff was very helpful, concierge did a wonderful job scheduling our events during our trip, maid service was excellent. We were pleased with the wonderful attitude and respectful nature of everyone associated with the villas and will be spending future vacations here. Our villa was clean. Full size kitchen and clothes washer/dryer in our villa. Bathroom was upgraded with nice towels. Pillows were a little uncomfortable. Bed was very comfortable though. Couch was very comfortable. Our villa cleanleness was great, not so good at Kapalua activity center. Maui is a dream and the Kapalua villas are near some of the prettiest beaches in Maui. Spa and use of Ritz facilities was great.

This was our second visit and loved it even more than the first. They have added a wonderful walk along the beach and the resort is as beautiful as ever. Construction appears to be done which helps. We found the service to be prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend a stay for anyone that wants to get away. Not close to the night life so may not be best for the ""single"" crowd.

The staff was VERY accomodating. I would definately stay here again. Careful on the ""Gold"" villa upgrade. We had a ocean view ""gold"" villa that was at The Ridge. A regular ocean front Bay Villa was a thousand times better than the best Ridge villa. So we moved into it after the first night. Get the STANDARD BAY VILLA OCEAN FRONT. Best deal going. You get to use ALL of the amenities at the Ritz. You can even charge to your room there. I absolutely loved this place. It is on the north edge of west Maui, so can get a little windy, but the cove bays are shielded from the wind. The golfing was pricey ($200) for 18 holes. The resort is huge and has a shuttle to take you just about anywhere you want to go on the property (including the Ritz). Loved It. Lahaina (touristy area) is fun to visit and only 10-15 minutes away.

The Villas are a wonderful place to stay. We prefer the Bay Villas due to beach proximity. The room was luxurious, yet reasonably priced. The dining area had three glass walls which allowed a wonderful view. The service was great; the response to any request was almost instant. Parking was easy. Quality restaurants are within walking distance, as are three beaches. Access to the Ritz pool was provided. The general store provided necessities, and was a gathering place for morning coffee.
